Our Values
These four values shape the way we follow Jesus together:
Theological Integrity
a fierce fidelity to the Holy Scriptures and a humble reception of the witness of Church Tradition
Holy Worship
a reverent, joyful worship in which we confess our sins at the heavenly altar and allow Word and Sacrament to strengthen us to be faithful witnesses of the Gospel
Ancient Discipleship
intentional training in traditional practices such as catechesis, daily prayers, Scripture reading, fasting & feasting, and hymn-singing & chant
Hospitable Fellowship
fostering community in church and homes to make strangers into neighbors, and neighbors into family, just as God has welcomed us into his family
Who We Are
We are a newly planted church of about 60 people living in the Ooltewah area. Here are some milestones in our short life so far:
Advent, 2024: Anglican Church of the Redeemer announces its hope to plant a Daughter Church in the Ooltewah area
Easter, 2025: Redeemer begins holding weekly service for her attendees discerning a call to the Daughter Church
October, 2025: Saint James Anglican Church holds its first public service near the Ooltewah area
Saint James is led by their planting rector, Fr. Jarrod Hill. Jarrod is blessed with a loving wife and three precious children. He earned his MDiv. from Beeson Divinity School and was trained for the priesthood at Christ the King Anglican Church and Anglican Church of the Redeemer.
Our Mother Church is Anglican Church of the Redeemer.
Our Diocese is the Anglican Diocese of the South.
Our Province is the Anglican Church in North America.
